About the event
Shinran Shonin is one of the founding fathers of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist practices. He was a man who wanted to share the teachings from his own teacher, Honen, with no intent to be gaining followers. He just wanted to live a life that was less suffering and shared what he learned.
On May 21, 1173, Shinran Shonin was born and lived to be 90 years old. So this month of May, we celebrate his birthday as a means of gratitude of his teachings.
